El Cafetal Inn

El Cafetal Inn is just 20 minutes from Costa Rica's international airport, Juan Santamaría. It is a quiet hotel on a coffee farm in Atenas, claimed by National Geographic to be the place with the world’s best climate. The hotel is a spectacular two story house with rounded, glass corner alcoves overlooking sugar fields with views of the cities of Alajuela and part of Heredia, as well as the three volcanoes: Poás, Barva and Irazú. Walk to the river and rest on private benches or hammocks along the trail to observe the natural surroundings. Keep on walking and you’ll be rewarded with a spectacular waterfall. When returned to the Cafetal Inn enjoy a drink at the pool, surrounded by coffee plants and trees.
