Royal Corin
Located outside the town of La Fortuna, the Royal Corin was designed to capture views of the dramatic volcano in every room and opportunity. Recently opened in June 2008, the architecture and interior design reflect a modern fusion of Cost Rican, Dutch and Indonesian style. Contemporary and antique paintings, Southeast Asian statuary and other multitudes of decorations beautifully contrast with polished marble and natural stone floors, leather furniture and recessed chandeliers.
All rooms have great volcano views, 25-inch flat-screen TVs, granite-topped desks, comfortable mattresses, individual reading lamps over the beds, large "intelligent" showers, minibars, refrigerators, coffeemakers, phones and digital safes. Standard rooms have two queen beds with black rattan headboards
The Imperador Restaurant again demonstrates the fusion of Costa Rican, Dutch and Indonesian influence, while the Lava Bar, the sole occupant of the Floor 5, is an experience in and of itself. Decorated with stark lava-red chairs and volcano-rock black floors, walls and ceiling, the bar presents a spectacular view of Arenal through floor to ceiling windows.
The large and opulent Lota Spa provides a full range of treatments in luxurious comfort. The spa has a strong Asian design, with Buddha statuary, lotus paintings, inlaid floor tile, and lighted lotus fountains in all spa areas.
Leisurely walkways wind through the neatly landscaped tropical grounds to three thermal water swimming pools, four whirlpools, thermal water cascades, wet bar and steam bath, that, side by side, provide a range of water temperatures.
