Hotel Jaguar

Cahuita is the name of the town where the Hotel Jaguar is located; a town with a different taste, one of the most representatives of the Caribbean life style, and Hotel Jaguar is part of the concept. The people are friendly, their afro-Caribbean roots, their Anglophone culture, their music truly autochthon –reggae and calypso- and their Antillean gastronomy, simply a different culture from the rest of Costa Rica.

Between the cabins front entrance, and throughout the 65000m2 property, small gardens and forested sections highlight the omnipresent vegetation with a mixture of well known ornamentals and the fabulous tropical fruits, some plantains, caimitos, jaquee, star fruits, breadfruit, mangos, “water apples” and do not forget the coconut palms, of course accompanied by the great wildlife -sloths, agoutis, iguanas, green poison dart frogs, hawks, hummingbirds, butterflies amongst many others- make a walk a nice treat to the senses.

The hotel has 220 meters of beach frontage. The beach has good shade from the many wild almond and coconut palms which line the sand edge. The water is quite shallow for about 75 meters out and swimming conditions are excellent in the shallow water.

Standard Rooms are large and comfortable. With two Queen Size beds, and high ceilings which help natural ventilation diminishing the need of air conditioning. The red tile floors, next to the wooden louvers add a nice touch to them. They include a floor fan, chairs and a table in the terrace.

The restaurant is very spacious and characteristic, offering different type of cooking: typical, Italian and Argentinean Steak House. The hotel also offers free wireless in the restaurant area and can facilitate a notebook for clients to check e-mails.

Jaguar is also a convenient location, since its s few minutes’ walk from the center of Cahuita (Pop. 3000+), gives you the chance to enjoy the rich mixture of cultures as well as a great biodiversity due to our proximity to National Park Cahuita.
