Day 2. After breakfast you can relax at the hotel’s pool. Please be ready at the hotel’s reception area at 3:00 Pm for your guided hike to Arenal Volcano. Afterwards your guide will take you to Baldi Hot Springs where you will be enjoying a delicious dinner.

First off, your guide will explain everything about the Arenal Volcano, its eruptions and contributions to development of La Fortuna. The hike will submerge you into a primary Tropical Rain forest, where you will spend about 1 ½ hour exploring the Silencio Trail, which faces the majestic Arenal Volcano. At dark, after visiting the trail, continue to the observation point, which offers the closest and most direct view to the lava flow. Relax, enjoy a beverage and listen to the incredible sounds of the volcano. If the cloud cover is high enough, expect to see a glowing crater. Listen to a variety of frogs, toucans, and insects and watch thousands of fireflies. After the volcano worship, continue on with a refreshing three-hour thermal hot springs visit to the Baldi Hot Springs. Here a delicious dinner is included.

Day 3. After breakfast your guide will take you on a safari kayak float on the Peñas Blancas. Throughout the day you will be spotting all sorts of birds, monkeys, reptiles, amphibians and lots of flora. Your guide will help you spot and explain what you’re seeing. Water and snacks included.

Day 4. This early morning you will experience a total Monteverde sensation. The slow paced Sky Tram gondolas will provide a smooth ride through the rain forest, with endless views along the way, so you can appreciate the natural beauty that surrounds you on your way to the top.

Once at the at the observation deck, you will be able to enjoy the most magnificent views of the Arenal Volcano. From the there, you will have two options for returning to the base. The first option is to ride back down the same way you came up, on the Sky Tram. On the ride you will be able to notice how the vegetation varies as the altitude changes once again. The other and more exciting options is that you can zip your way to the bottom along the fast moving canopy tour zip lines, the best option for those seeking a rush of adrenaline. .
After this tour, you will be taken back to your hotel to check out. Your private transportation is waiting for you to bring you to Manual Antonio on the Pacific coast. It is home to many of the nicest resorts in Costa Rica and also a multitude of restaurants. It has some of the most beautiful views and is home to the most visited national park. There you will check in one of the area's most scenic hotels.

Day 5. This day has been designated as your beach day. We suggest you walk, swim and relax at the beach and visit the National Park of Manual Antonio.

Day 6. Be ready to take an awesome rafting tour on the Class III & IV Section of the Savegre River. Starting with a 4x4 ride into the “wilds” of Costa Rica’s tropical jungle with breathtaking scenery of more remote areas of the Savegre, your journey begins at “Silencio”.

Before paddling down the river, you will stop for a typical Tico breakfast. The Savegre River provides Class II, III and some IV rapids that are manageable in sturdy rafts that accommodate 2 to 6 people comfortably. Your guides stop at locally known swimming spots and breathtaking waterfalls, and there is always time to enjoy the abundant variety of wildlife along the river. On most trips, rafters will observe egrets, osprey, toucans, parrots, kingfishers, cormorants, and many other species local to this protected area of the tropical rain forest. After a steady 13 mile trip down the river, we wind our way back to the little village of “Silencio” where a gladly awaited hot lunch “Tico Style” and local refreshments are waiting. After lunch, you will be brought back to your hotel.

Day 7. Experience one of Costa Rica’s most striking coastlines and National Park – by open-seat ocean kayak. The adventure begins near the developing Pez Vela (Sail Fish) Marina in Quepos and winds along the Manuel Antonio coastline.

Indulge yourselves at a rare jewel of a beach – a hidden Manuel Antonio treasure at Biezans Bay – for a refreshing swim and delicious local snacks. And feel free to have your bilingual naturalist guide direct you to the best snorkeling spots as you experience three small but growing, active, and astounding coral reef systems nestled very close to the shore of Biezans Bay. Or just relax and enjoy the tranquility of a private white sand beach. After an unforgettable experience at Biezans, continue kayaking – if you choose to do so – towards Manuel Antonio National Park and wonder at the nearby nesting islands where exotic boobies and frigates call home year round. Ask your naturalist guide to steer you towards their favorite species’ nesting spots and most popular locations for local aquatic marine life. And finally end your adventure with a relaxing yet in typical Costa Rican flavor near the beach at a local Manuel Antonio hot spot before you return to your Costa Rican residence.

Day 8. Today you will leave the beach for the Central Valley. We suggest you stay in the center of San Jose for your last night to experience a different vibe. Walk through town to do some (souvenir) shopping, visit one of the many museums or perhaps for a good meal.

Day 9. All good things must come to an end. For the past 9 days you have immersed Costa Rica’s culture and beautiful natural playgrounds. Today you will be departing with a new understanding of the tropics. Make use of your hotel’s courtesy shuttle to the airport to catch your flight home.
