Sustainable tourism is a balanced interaction between the use of our natural and cultural resources, the improvement of the quality of life among the host communities, and the economic success of the industry, which also contributes to the country´s development. Sustainable tourism is not only a response to a trend, but also an imperative condition to successfully compete now and in the future.
Sustainability, as a model of development, seeks to meet the current demands of society without compromising the rights of future generations to meet theirs. That is to say, the development of the country cannot be based on the unbalanced exploitation of resources (natural, cultural, social, etc.) to meet the demands of society (food, housing, health, employment) because these are the only resources we have, and that future generations have, to meet our and their own needs.

Within our San Jose office we practice sustainable office practices including being a fully paperless office, relying heavily on e-mail and telephone communications (and a disciplined digital backup of our information). As a strategy to minimize the use or resources and production of waste, we have designed and implemented environmental office code of conduct, among our environmental office code of conduct policies are:
- The preference of use of goods & services from local small businesses
- Avoidance of purchasing items and supplies with excessive packaging
- A prohibition on styrofoam and disposable plastic containers for food
- A strict recycling program
- Adequate management of waste (particularly discarded electronic equipment)
- Practices to result in reduced use of water, electrical energy, and fossil fuel derivatives
