WAVE SURFING- Lessons description
Novice surfing instructing will begin at the beach were your instructor will teach you the basics of surfing, including the adequate techniques for entering the ocean, catching waves and more. Your session starts on the sand which will conclude by practicing how to get up on the board and hold the correct position, then you will move to the water to catch waves with the help of your instructors. 99% of novices will be standing up to ride waves by the end of their first lesson! You instructors will provide surfboards, bottled water and fresh fruit.
You can pick from one-day classes (default), multi-day classes or a “Surfari” at many beaches of our country. Please contact MrTico directly for customized surfing packages – “Surfaris”. You can also combine these with other adventure expeditions.

| Additional information Surfing is a natural and healthy sport. It gets you in shape, gives you a nice tan and most of all, it is pure fun. MrTico offers the opportunity to surf in Costa Rica. If you are beginning to surf, or if it’s your first time, you can receive surf instruction from high energy, first class instructors. Or if you are an intermediate or advanced level surfer you can be involved in various guided or non guided surf tours.
Costa Rica has been known to be called "the Hawaii of Latin-American surfing" because there are thousands of beach breaks (also reef brakes) and tons of oceanfront. Monster waves you don't see much of. What you do see is good-size breaks that are consistent year-round. Another reason to surf in Costa Rica is the culture. The Costa Rican or Tico culture supports surfers with surf shops, board rentals, bars, restaurants, hotels... there is definitely is a strong vibe down here for surfing.
Another solid reason is temperature, on the beach is roughly 25 – 30 °C (77-86°F) all year, with water temperatures around 25 °C (77°F) so there is no need for a wetsuit. Forget all about the surfer stereotypes, there is simply nothing more pleasant and relaxing than enjoying the ocean and sharing some waves with your friends.
