DAY 1 | ARE YOU READY FOR SIMPLY THE BEST OF COSTA RICA?

We certainly are! At the airport you will be met by a hotel representative who will provide a transfer service to your hotel. Relax at the pool and enjoy the tropical bird sounds before you get indulged into the best nature and adventure Costa Rica has to offer.

The hotel offers a very affordable a-la-carte menu, or you can opt for eating out at a cute little restaurant just next door.

DAY 2 | MONTEVERDE CLOUD FOREST RESERVE

This morning we have arranged for your transportation to Monteverde, Costa Rica’s Cloud Forest Region. Cloud forests are a particular type of mid elevation tropical rain forest that occur at specific tropical mountain areas and constitute unique ecosystems.

Take advantage of a early arrival to the renowned Cloud Forest Reserve on your own and explore these well beautiful and well maintained trails. In the afternoon relax at the hotel and enjoy the serenity of the cloud forest or explore the tiny and colorful town of Santa Elena.

DAY 3 |  AERIAL TRAM, HANGING BRIDGES & CANOPY ZIP LINING!

Start your day with a full combo of adventure with the Sky Tram, Sky Trek and Sky Walk. You will be picked up at the hotel after a delicious breakfast.

Upon arriving to the location, the adventure starts at the reception where you board the slow paced gondolas and ride smoothly up to a wide observation deck at the highest point. Sky Tram is a guided tour and you can have the opportunity to intermediate the ride with short stops to observe the cloud forest biodiversity, the Arenal, Tenorio, Miravalles and Orosi Volcanoes, the Nicoya Gulf, and the Guanacaste plain if the weather allows.

Instead of riding back down the same way you came up on the Sky Tram, zip your way to the bottom along the fast moving canopy zip lines; the best option for those seeking a rush of adrenaline.

Additionally you will be able to enjoy a visit to the Sky Walk which lets you view the cloud forest from a different perspective from the suspension bridges. Enjoy this guided tour, where you will learn all about the flora and fauna of the area walking through and over the treetops.

You will have the remainder of the afternoon to yourself, to walk around town and have lunch, more cloud forest hiking, visit the frog pond, orchid & butterfly gardens, or simply relax at your hotel.

DAY 4 | ARENAL VOLCANO WORSHIPPING & TABACON HOT SPRINGS

After breakfast you will be moving to a different location. First by land and then by boat, crossing the majestic Lake Arenal to reach the town of La Fortuna, in the vicinity of the Arenal Volcano. Perfectly cone shaped, the Arenal Volcano is one of the most beautiful volcanoes in the world. Once you get to your hotel, settle in and relax for a bit and observe that colossal volcano in the backyard.

There is no complete trip to Arenal without getting close to the active far west side of Arenal Volcano. This afternoon we have arranged for a guided hike were your guide will explain everything about the volcano formation, eruption and contributions to the La Fortuna development. The hike will submerge you into a primary Tropical Rain forest, where you will spend about 1 ½ hour exploring the Silencio Trail, which is located in a private primary forest, facing the majestic Arenal Volcano.

At dark, after visiting the trail, continue to the observation point, which offers the closet views of this impressive mountain. Relax; enjoy a drink and listen to the incredible sounds. Listen to a variety of frogs, toucans, and insects and watch thousands of fireflies.

After the volcano worship continue on with a refreshing three-hour thermal hot springs at the world famous Tabacon Thermal Resort & Spa, which includes a delicious buffet dinner.

DAY 5 | CANYONING & RAPPELLING DOWN WATERFALLS & TROPICAL CANYONS

Make sure to fill up on breakfast for you’ll need the energy on this next wet and wild adventure!

Harnesses, helmets, ropes, climbing gear and a desire for adventure is what you need to submerge yourself into a lush and pristine tropical rain forest canyon. These unique tropical environments house numerous drops, unique pools, beautifully sculpted walls, and spectacular waterfalls; all in the breathtaking setting of a Costa Rican Tropical Rain forest.

Imagine yourself combining hiking through the jungle and exploring a quite essential tropical canyon, hiking on rocks, swimming or scrambling through pools, sliding on natural water slides, taking technical jumps into natural bowls filled with crystal clear water, and descending by rappelling vertical rock walls. This is the new sport of canyoning, and what better place to enjoy it than a tropical forest canyon filled with refreshing water streams. Afterwards you’ll get rewarded with a typical Costa Rican lunch.

In the afternoon, simply relax at your lodge, hiking its trails, enjoying the gardens and perhaps an exotic drink at the pool. All view splendid Volcano views.

DAY 6 | PACIFIC BEACH TIME AT MANUEL ANTONIO

This morning we have arranged for your transportation through the mountain range and along the Pacific coastline, until you’ve reached the popular beach town of Manuel Antonio. This place is home to many of the nicest resorts in Costa Rica and a multitude of excellent restaurants. It has some of the most beautiful views and is home to the most visited national park.

Here you’ll check in at a marvelous hotel with friendly staff, a couple of pools, comfortable and spacious rooms with private balconies offering the best rain forest and ocean views. Settle in and enjoy this breath taking place for the remainder of the day.

DAY 7 | EXPLORE THE TROPICAL COAST BY SEA KAYAK

Experience one of Costa Rica’s most striking coastlines and National Park – by open-seat ocean kayak. The adventure begins near the developing Pez Vela (Sail Fish) Marina in Quepos and winds along the Manuel Antonio coastline.

Indulge yourselves at a rare jewel of a beach – a hidden Manuel Antonio treasure at Biezans Bay – for a refreshing swim and delicious local snacks. Ask your bilingual naturalist guide to direct you to the best snorkeling spots where you’ll encounter three small but growing, active, and astounding coral reef systems nestled very close to the shore of Biezans Bay. After this unforgettable experience, continue kayaking – if you choose to do so – towards Manuel Antonio National Park and wonder at the nearby nesting islands where exotic boobies and frigates call home year round.

Finally you’ll end your adventure with a typical Costa Rican flavored dish near the beach at a local Manuel Antonio hot spot before you return to your Costa Rican residence.

DAY 8 | HIKING & WILDLIFE OBSERVATION IN MANUEL ANTONIO NATIONAL PARK

Early today your highly trained, well-educated Costa Rican naturalist guide will pick you up for your hike on the trails of the renowned Manuel Antonio National Park. With one of the most stunning, picture-postcard backdrops in the country, this is one of the lushest locations in Costa Rica, with spectacular white-grey sand beaches fringed by thickly forested green hills. Watch sloths and numerous species of monkeys travel through the tree canopy, hunt for nocturnal silky anteaters and several types of non-poisonous snakes resting in the tropical rain forest, and listen to the songs of the various birds as they glide or perch above your heads.

This low land coastal tropical rain forest boasts an array of different kinds of flora and fauna you can spot just in the span of a 2 ½ hour nature walk or hike. And whenever you are ready, stop and enjoy some local fresh fruits and refreshments as you pause to savor your adventure thus far. If you desire, hike additionally through the trails and enjoy unspoiled, un-crowded, pristine beaches after your guided educational adventure ends.

 The afternoon is free for you to enjoy the beaches & relax at the hotel’s pools.

DAY 9 | WE’VE SAVED THE BEST FOR LAST: WHITE WATER RAFTING!

Today early morning you will be picked up at your hotel for a full day of white water rafting on the Savegre River– considered to be the cleanest of all Central America. The drive to the river put-in takes you through Africa Palm oil plantations, teak reforestation projects, and simply fascinating landscapes.

After a safety briefing and paddle instructions you’ll hop in your raft to run rapids like ‘Boca Diablo’, ‘Hurricane Rita’, and ‘Washing Machine’. Along the way we’ll stop for a short hike to a waterfall nearby where you can jump in for a refreshing swim. Further down the river we’ll stop for a welcoming warm lunch before paddling the last part of this wild river.

We’ll take you back in a comfortable van to your hotel in Manual Antonio where you can relax, wash up and get ready for your last night’s dinner at this beautiful location.
